Care Tips

Tallow Whips

Tallow naturally softens and melts at body temperature, allowing it to absorb beautifully into the skin. While this makes it incredibly effective for skincare, it also means it may soften or melt during transit, especially in warmer weather.

The light, airy consistency of our whip is created by incorporating air into the tallow. When exposed to warmth, that air is released, leaving the same amount of product by weight, but with reduced volume. The product remains just as nourishing and effective, and can be used exactly as it arrives. If you prefer the original whipped texture, it can easily be restored by following these simple steps.

To re-whip your tallow:

  1. Create a double boiler on your stove using a heat-safe bowl over gently simmering water.

  2. Transfer the contents of your jar into the bowl and warm slowly on low heat until fully melted.

  3. Remove from heat and allow the tallow to cool in the refrigerator. You can also place in the freezer just until solid to speed up the process.

  4. Once solid, use a hand mixer to whip the tallow until it returns to a soft, fluffy consistency. Scoop back into your jar and enjoy!*Do NOT let water come in contact with your product*

Tallow Balms

If your tallow balm arrives softened or melted, simply place it in the refrigerator until it becomes firm again. This does not affect the quality or performance of the product.
