1. What is tallow, and why do you use it in skincare?
Tallow is a nutrient-rich fat rendered from the suet of 100% grass-fed cows. It closely mimics the oils naturally found in human skin, making it deeply nourishing, easily absorbed, and incredibly effective at restoring moisture and balance.
2. Is tallow greasy or heavy on the skin?
Not at all! When properly formulated, tallow melts beautifully into the skin without clogging pores or leaving a greasy residue. It creates a protective barrier while allowing your skin to breathe.
3. Is tallow safe for sensitive or acne-prone skin?
Yes! Tallow is gentle and non-comedogenic. It's rich in vitamins A, D, E, and K, which help calm inflammation, support healing, and strengthen the skin barrier—making it ideal for sensitive, dry, or acne-prone skin.
4. Where do you source your tallow?
We use only 100% grass-fed and finished, ethically sourced tallow from USA farms that prioritize animal wellness and regenerative practices.
5. Can I use tallow on my face and body?
Absolutely! Tallow is incredibly versatile and safe to use from head to toe. Our balms are perfect for face, lips, hands, dry patches, or anywhere your skin needs extra love. External use only!
6. How long do your products last?
With proper care (stored in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight), our tallow products typically last 6–9 months. There are no artificial preservatives—just clean, simple ingredients. Products without tallow can last 9-12 months!
7. Are Remède products safe for use during pregnancy and on babies?
I would recommend our Naked line and any products specifically made for young skin. Those products are made without any essential oils and very gentle. As always, consult your healthcare provider as needed.
8. My tallow melted! How can i fix it?
Tallow naturally softens and melts at body temperature, allowing it to absorb beautifully into the skin. While this makes it incredibly effective for skincare, it also means it may soften or melt during transit, especially in warmer weather.
